Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard and NBA Champion Pat Connaughton ‘11 is coming back to St. John’s Prep! The Pat Connaughton Foundation is teaming up with St. John’s Prep Varsity Basketball Coach, David Clay, to facilitate the best basketball camp on the North Shore, designed to promote a positive and healthy youth basketball experience.
Here’s what you’ll get from working with Pat and his hand-picked coaches:
Skill Development: Led by Pat Connaughton and Coach David Clay, this Basketball Camp focuses on honing fundamental skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive strategies. Whether your camper is a budding player or a seasoned baller, this program caters to all skill levels.
Scrimmages and Drills: The heart of Basketball Camp lies in spirited scrimmages and skill-building drills. Campers engage in friendly competitions, developing their skills while enjoying the camaraderie of their teammates.
Team Building: Basketball is a team sport that thrives on collaboration. The Pat Connaughton Camp instills the importance of teamwork, encouraging campers to communicate effectively, support each other, and celebrate collective success.
Position-Specific Training: As campers progress, they receive position-specific training to deepen their understanding of the game. Whether it’s playing guard, forward, or center, this program ensures that each camper becomes a well-rounded player.
Fitness and Conditioning: Basketball demands agility, endurance, and strength. This camp incorporates fitness routines and conditioning drills to ensure that campers not only excel in the game, but also maintain peak physical fitness.
Game Strategy Sessions: Understanding the strategic elements of basketball is crucial. Campers participate in game strategy sessions, learning about plays, tactics, and decision-making to elevate their overall basketball IQ.
Proceeds from this clinic will go directly towards the Pat Connaughton Foundation. This organization is focused on making a positive impact in the hearts, minds, and futures of young athletes by increasing access to athletics. Through the three keys of courts, camps, and character PCF offers an unrivaled experience that teaches translatable life skills such as hard work, teamwork, leadership, accountability, and discipline – skills that will stick with campers long after their playing days are over. Because basketball is so much more than a game. It’s a way of life.
