For campers entering grades 4 and 5

Welcome to Upper Camp at Camp Chris, an exciting realm where campers in grades 4 and 5 embark on a journey of independence, adventure, and personal growth.  Our adventure-themed camp is designed to cater to the unique needs and interests of young explorers as they transition from elementary to middle school years.

Most Upper Campers have confident friendships at home and school, and we build on those skills- since the Upper Camp comes together so often to explore camp, we encourage campers to make new friends, and see their old pals when their paths cross- we no longer use friend requests at this age group.  Every new camper is a friend that you haven’t met yet!   

A Safe and Supportive Environment: Safety and care are our top priorities.  At Upper Camp, we provide a secure and nurturing environment where trained counselors ensure the well-being and growth of each camper.  Our staff is experienced and dedicated to creating an environment where campers can safely spread their wings.

Learning Through Adventure: At Upper Camp, we believe that the most profound learning happens through adventure.  Our programs seamlessly blend education with exploration to stimulate young minds, inspire curiosity, and kindle a love for the great outdoors.  Campers engage in a variety of age-appropriate activities, from storytelling to nature exploration to arts and crafts.

Varied Activities:  Upper Camp campers have so many choices to make, including activities such as swim, gymnastics, sports, STEM, Creation Stations, Gaga, archery, Camp Store, drama, arts and crafts, camper choice, all cohort and all camp special events, and more*! 

Friendship and Teamwork: Upper Camp is where lifelong friendships take root and teamwork thrives.  Campers build bonds with their peers through collaborative activities, group adventures, and play.  They learn the value of working together and develop essential skills that will serve them well in the years ahead.

Creative Expression:  Creativity is celebrated at Upper Camp.  Whether through painting, crafting,  or storytelling, young campers have the opportunity to express themselves, allowing their creativity to flourish while creating lasting memories.

Outdoor Play and Games: Physical activity is an integral part of child development.  Upper Camp provides opportunities for campers to enjoy games, and outdoor sports on the Prep’s playing fields, that keep them active, healthy, and having a great time.

Building Independence: Our camp empowers young explorers to build independence and self-confidence.  They are encouraged to make decisions, take responsibilities, and grow as individuals, all under the guidance of experienced counselors.

What to Pack in Your Backpack:

• Refillable water bottle
• Nut free lunch and snack
• Swimsuit, towel, and change of clothes (goggles optional)
• Sunscreen – applied before coming and reapplied frequently (bug spray optional)
• Please label all belongings with a first and last name
