Pat Connaughton Co-Ed Youth Basketball Camps

Charlotte Hornets shooting guard and NBA Champion Pat Connaughton ’11 is coming back to St. John’s Prep!

Connaughton Camps are returning to St. John’s Prep for summer 2027 with three high-energy basketball camps designed to provide young athletes with a positive, challenging, and fun basketball experience right here on the North Shore.

For summer 2027, Pat will be on campus for three separate weeks of camp, giving families multiple opportunities to take part:

  • Week 2: Monday, June 28 - Thursday, July 1, 2027
  • Week 5: Monday, July 19 - Thursday, July 22, 2027
  • Week 9: Monday, August 16 - Thursday, August 19, 2027

Each camp runs 8:30am - 12:30pm, Monday through Thursday.

Designed to create a positive, challenging, and fun basketball experience for young athletes on the North Shore, each four-day program gives campers the opportunity to develop their game while learning directly from an NBA player and his experienced coaching staff.

Pat Connaughton will be on campus and actively involved for the full duration of all three camps, working alongside the coaching staff to provide instruction, lead activities, and work directly with campers.

Registration Open | January 7, 2027

Basketball Program Features & Highlights

Skill Development: Campers will work on fundamental basketball skills including dribbling, shooting, passing, footwork, and defense. The program is designed to accommodate a range of experience levels, allowing players to develop from their individual starting point.

Scrimmages & Drills: Campers will put their skills into action through high-energy drills, competitions, and scrimmages. These sessions provide opportunities to practice new skills, compete, and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with playing alongside teammates.

Team Building: Basketball is about more than individual ability. Campers will learn the importance of communication, teamwork, leadership, supporting teammates, and working toward a shared goal.

Position-Specific Training: Players will have opportunities to develop skills and knowledge relevant to different positions on the court, helping them better understand their role within a team and become more complete basketball players.

Fitness & Conditioning: Basketball requires agility, endurance, strength, and coordination. Conditioning and movement will be incorporated throughout the program to help campers develop the physical tools needed to perform on the court.

Basketball IQ & Game Strategy: Campers will explore the strategic side of basketball, including positioning, decision-making, offensive and defensive concepts, and how to read the game as it develops.

Want Even More Basketball?

Campers can keep playing after the Pat Connaughton Camp ends!

Families will have the option to register for a special Rec Hoopz Afternoon Add-On, providing additional basketball programming following the conclusion of Connaughton Camp each day. Campers registered for the add-on will transition directly into Rec Hoopz for an afternoon of basketball, games, skill development, and competition. This program ends at 4pm.

The Rec Hoopz Afternoon Add-On requires separate registration, is subject to availability, and provides families with the option to turn the four-day Connaughton Camp experience into a full day of basketball.

For Pat Connaughton, basketball is about more than becoming a better player. It is also an opportunity to help young athletes build confidence, character, and habits that extend beyond the court.
