SUMMER CAMPS
Super Structures & Foundational Engineering
A Full-Day LEGO® Engineering and Architecture Camp for kids entering grades 2 and 3.
This full-day camp combines two exciting half-day programs – Super Structures and Foundational Engineering – into one complete day of hands-on STEM exploration, where campers design towering structures, build machines and contraptions, and explore concepts like gears, levers, balance, stability, and structural design through creative LEGO® challenges.
Super Structure introduces students to the exciting world of architecture and engineering through hands-on building with LEGO® bricks. In this program, participants explore how large-scale structures – such as bridges, skyscrapers, towers, and other iconic constructions—are designed and built in the real world.
Students engage in guided building challenges that encourage them to plan, construct, and test their own creations. Through these activities, they learn key engineering and architectural principles, including balance, stability, structural integrity, and the importance of strong foundations. As they experiment with different designs, students develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and critical thinking while discovering how structures withstand forces and loads.
The program also emphasizes collaboration and teamwork, as students often work in small groups to bring ambitious projects to life. By combining imagination with practical STEM concepts, SuperStructures provides a fun and engaging learning experience that inspires confidence, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the world of engineering and architecture.
The Foundational Engineering (Machines & Contraptions) program introduces students to the core principles of engineering through hands-on LEGO® building. Participants design and construct simple machines, moving contraptions, and mechanical structures while learning how gears, levers, pulleys, and other engineering concepts work.
Throughout the program, students experiment with building techniques, test and refine their creations, and solve design challenges, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Activities are designed to make STEM concepts tangible and fun, providing an engaging, hands-on introduction to engineering.
Collaboration and teamwork are emphasized as students share ideas, work together on projects, and help one another improve their designs. By blending creative building with foundational engineering principles, this program provides an interactive and educational experience that inspires curiosity, confidence, and a love for STEM learning.
This program is run by Snapology and is a full-day program. Please Note: Full-Day Exploration Camps do not include scheduled pool time due to the structure and schedule of our vendor partners’ programming.
