Important Information for Parents: What You Need to Know About Daytrippers
- Adventure-Filled Program: Perfect for thrill-seekers in grades 5-9 who love daily field trips and outdoor exploration.
- Easy Sign-Up: We handle all bookings and logistics, so your camper enjoys a stress-free, memorable summer.
- Well-Staffed & Safe: Minimum 2 counselors per 12 campers, with added staff for larger groups. Partner organizations are thoroughly vetted.
- Flexible Programming: We reserve the right to adjust programming as needed and will do our best to inform families with as much advance notice as possible.
- Weekly Lunch Provided: We’ll treat campers to lunch once a week and will share the schedule with families once our itineraries are set and approved. On other days, campers bring their own lunch for a full day off-campus.
- Higher Behavioral Standards: As Daytrippers are often in the public eye, campers are held to a higher standard of behavior to represent our program positively. Certain behaviors—such as unsafe actions, profanity, and disrespect—will not be tolerated.
- Rigorous Activities: Daytrippers’ activities will be more rigorous and demanding than on-campus programming. Some specific needs may be difficult to accommodate due to the nature of activities provided by our partner programs.
- Key Details:
- Full-day, off-campus program (9am – 4pm), with no late arrivals or early dismissals.
- Safe transportation in St. John’s Prep vehicles, driven by trained, certified staff.
- Some partner organizations may require additional waivers for camper participation. Summer at St. John’s will send these waivers to caregivers two weeks before the start of each weekly program.
Any questions about this program should be directed to Laurel Grady.
