For campers entering grades 6-9

Dive into the world of professional game development with Unity, one of the most widely used game engines in the industry! In this beginner-friendly class, students will learn how to create their own 2D and 3D games while exploring the basics of game design, coding, and visual storytelling. By the end of the course, students will have the tools and skills to build and share their own games, sparking their passion for future game development.

Key Learning Objectives:

• Build Your Own Game: By the end of the course, students will complete their own playable game, ready to share and expand.
• Unity Basics: Get hands-on with Unity’s interface, tools, and assets to create dynamic game worlds.
• C# Programming: Learn the basics of coding in C#, Unity’s scripting language, to bring games to life.
• Game Design Principles: Discover essential game mechanics, level design, and player interaction.
• Creative Problem-Solving: Develop skills in coding, debugging, and optimizing game projects.

What to Pack in Your Backpack:

• Refillable water bottle
• Nut free lunch and snack
• Light layer as the A/C will be on in buildings
• Sunscreen – applied before coming and reapplied frequently
• We suggest that cell phones and other personal electronics remain at home. Should they come to camp they should remain in backpacks throughout the program day.
